It is always said and heard that you should always take a back up of your important files, folders and documents whether it is in laptop or on your mobile. In today's time, taking a back up has become really important as there might be times when your mobile might hand or your laptop can create problems.  It is better to be safe rather than sorry. The backup of anything and everything will make you feel safe and secure as you have your data with you even if gets deleted by mistake or some other factors can erase your data.  As the world has become digital in every aspect, so has the safety and security of your work has become a priority. This day falls just before April Fools Day and reminds you that instead of postponing things for tomorrow it is better to complete them in advance.

National Black Forest Cake Day: A day to relish a delicious cake

The main objective behind the celebration of National Balck Forest Cake Day is to relish and indulge in a lip-smacking dessert where many layers of chocolate cake are layered with whipped cream and cherries. The cake is decorated with chocolate shavings.  The cake is named after a liquor produced in Germany. All the bakers and pastry chefs create beautiful displays while baking Black Forest cake. World Theatre Day: A day to recognize the value and importance of theatres

World Theatre Day is celebrated across all ITI Cooperating members, ITI centres, theatre organizations, theatre universities, theatre professionals and theatre lovers. It is a reminder for all regarding the importance of theatre and a wake-up call to government, politicians and individuals who have not yet recognized the value of the art form.  On this day, a person from the theatre who practices the art from mind and heart is called upon to put forward his/her views. The message is translated into more than 50 languages and it is read before all the spectators before a performance and is also published in newspapers.  The people in the audio-visual field also contribute greatly in making this message reach across all the continents. Week of Solidarity with the People Struggling Against Racism and Racial Discrimiination

An international week starting from 21st March and extending up to 27th March is celebrated to show our support for people who are struggling against racism and racial discrimination. Racism in any form is never good for the healthy progress of society.  Despite advancement in every field across the world, we still observe a lot of racial discrimination that pulls us back to many centuries. It is really saddening to see people beaten up or fairness creams being endorsed if you do not have fair skin.  On this day, the least we can do is to stop discriminating between people and encourage everyone around us to do the same. There is no joy in progressing alone if we want to prosper. Teamwork can take us to greater heights and this is what the day is all about. 

International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade

15 million men, women and children have been victim of transatlantic slave trade for around 400 years which is considered to be one of the darkest chapters of human history. The day is a golden opportunity to remember and honour those who have died and suffered because of this brutal slavery system.  The day raises awareness about the side effects of prejudice and racism today. To permanently honour the victims, a memorial has been made at United Nations Headquarters in New York.  The winning design for the memorial called The Ark of Return by Rodney Leon was selected through an international competition on September 2013.  On this day, we can learn more about various forms of slavery especially transatlantic slave trade and how they suffered brutally through the hands of different people which ultimately led to their death. 

World Tuberculosis Day: A day to gain awareness about a deadly disease

Tuberculosis at one time was considered to be one of the deadliest diseases for mankind as people used to die after contacting this disease. As technology advanced, the cure for tuberculosis was made available and accessible for all so that nobody dies because of it.  The main objective behind celebrating this day is to raise awareness about the socio-economic consequences of the disease, deteriorating health and ways and measures to help end this epidemic. About 4,000 people lose their lives because of TB and 28,000 fall prey to this disease.  At this tough time when COVID 19 is still continuing to affect the world, it is very important to stop Tuberculosis from further spread so that the world can become a happy and healthy place to live in. 

World Meteorological Day: A day to celebrate the foundation of an organization for forecasting weather

World Meteorological Day is celebrated every year on March 23 by World Meteorological Organization in order to commemorate its establishment in 1950. The day highlights the contribution of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services for safety and well being of society and is celebrated with different activities round the world.  The common themes chosen on this day range from climate, topical weather or water related issues. The ocean and weather are interrelated to each other. If there is a turmoil in the ocean bed, it is bound to affect the climate in a wrong manner.  Ocean is the lifeline of humanity as there are many water trades which take place among different countries. World Water Day: A day to conserve water and various water bodies

Water is one of the most important necessities for the survival of mankind. Without water, an individual cannot survive for a single day. Our body also constitutes of water which implies that water is the base of life.  Many of us waste the water by keeping taps open when not required and leaving the water flowing even after the container is full. We need to understand that we should save water for future generations. International Day of Forests : A day to preserve the green cover across the world

Forests are one of the major factors that bring along a balance in the ecosystem. Without forests, the whole of humanity would be wiped away in a jiffy. Ordnance Factories Day: A day to mark the establishment of first ordnance factory in India

The Ordnance Factory Board is celebrating 220th Ordnance Factory Day today and some of the worker's federations who are opposed to the idea of corporisation of OFB has asked that the day should be observed as Save Ordnance Factories Day.  The day marks the foundation of the establishment of the first Ordnance Factory at Cossipore near Kolkata in 1801. The network of Ordnance Factories includes 41 factories which have been divided into five operational divisions of OFB and makes a defence production group having one of the widest range of products across the world.  The government wants to corporatise OFB which has faced opposition from the workers federation of 41 ordnance factories and associated units across the country.  The opposition has brought together many opposition parties who are favouring the workers. Despite all the opposition from three major federations, the Defence Ministry is continuing with the process.

World Consumer Rights Day: A day to make consumers aware of their rights and implement them well

The main objective behind celebrating World Consumer Rights Day is to raise awareness across the world about consumer needs and rights. The celebration of this day is a golden opportunity to demand that the rights of all the customers should be protected and respected. Rivers form a very important part of human life. This is because they help us to survive as our body constitutes 75% of water. Mauritius Day: A day to celebrate one of the most beautiful place across the world

Mauritius Day is a public holiday that falls on March 12 every year. CISF Raising Day: The day when the force came into existence

Central Industrial Security Force famously known as CISF is the central armed police force of the country. It functions under Union Home Ministry and has headquarters in Delhi. International Women's Day: A day to honour all the women across the globe

Women in the modern world have progressed and uplifted themselves to greater degrees. Some of them have really inspired all the women of the generation to move forward with their choices and preferences. Though the world has been unfair to a few women, they have beaten all of it and gained success.  There are many instances we read about women who have come up after a lot of struggle but most of us still do not take any lesson from the same. National Read Across America Day: A day to encourage reading habit among all

National Read Across America Day is celebrated all across America on March 2 to celebrate the birthday of Dr Seuss.
