Chutzpah Web Series Review: A series which shows how social media addiction can make and break lives

Chutzpah is a series that intertwines the story of six people into one and brings out a series that is totally relatable in modern times. The series is about the people whose lives are greatly affected by social media and they cannot think of anybody beyond that.  In today's world, we need social media validation to become a star or to ruin ourselves. Social media has become a two-faced dagger that can cut vegetables or take lives. There has been a great uproar of social media and Chutzpah explores this theme to the core.  The series although cannot be called great but it is one of the best as it explores a theme that nobody has attempted and fares in what it is trying to show.

Mimi Movie Review: A movie which is a Shakesperean comedy even if we call it comedy

Today, we see a lot of movies made on real-life stories. This makes them all the more special. Mimi although has been adapted from a story and Marathi film justifies itself completely. Though the movie has been classified as a comedy, but the comedy is Shakesperean as all's well that ends well have been the theme of Shakespeare's plays.  The movie is about a girl who has inspirations and dreams of going to Bollywood but to earn money becomes a surrogate mother. At first, her motto is pure money but as time passes and the couple who wants the child run away she emotionally gets attached with the child and does not abort it.  As the movie proceeds, the couple comes back for the baby but ultimately they realize that Mimi is happy with the kid and they adopt a girl and leave the country. The movie is great and soothing to the eyes. The performances are lovely and heart touching. The movie can make it to your must-watch list.

Feels Like Ishq Web Series Review: An anthology which gives you feel good moment at times

Romance is a feeling which cannot be hidden for long. It comes out in various forms which can either be harmful or beautiful. Love is not restricted to the opposite gender. It can also happen between the same genders. This is what the Netflix anthology Feels like Ishq is all about.  There are a total of five stories in the series which have their own uniqueness. Out of them, three of them managed to impress me and two were little confusing. The young and fun cast made the series all the more watchable. According to me, the series is a one time watch for those who believe in romance otherwise this cute and mushy stuff is not something you can look forward to.

14 Phere Movie Review: A movie which works on old concept

All of us have witnessed a usual love story where two people meet, fall in love and get married. However, all love stories are not that simple. There are parents, family and relatives involved and if even one person denies the match, everything falls off.  14 Phere is a love that starts on a unique foot but goes into the old age rituals and traditions. The movie has no humorous moments and there is chaos and confusion scattered all over as if everybody is in a hurry to get over with whatever is going on in the movie. Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda are good actors but their pairing is not at all suitable for this movie. The songs are not appealing enough. There are some beautiful moments in the movie but overall the movie is not that great.

Hostel Daze Season 2 Web Series Review: Another wonderful season of a great series

Hostel Daze was one of the great series as it showed the reality of the hostel life of students. The series was my favourite as it came from one of my favourite channels TVF and we know that TVF is a master in making a series on real concepts which makes us go into that world and enjoy the time. I feel that even the cast of Hostel Daze would have had a great time in shooting the series as the series is very much different from all the movies and series shown on hostel life. The series brings out different characters which we might have encountered in our hostels as well and it is a very calming and soothing series.  All the actors in the series are famous today and they perform really well. The series portrays hostel life beautifully and shows that without friends we are nothing. It brings back that nostalgia and emotions of college times that have been long forgotten and brings us back to a bag full of memories.  All I can say is that is on a personal level I enjoyed the series and it

Hungama 2 Movie Review: A film with different storyline which lacks comedy

All of us might have watched many Priyadarshan's movies in the 90s and enjoyed them, especially the comedy ones. Hungama can be called one of the cult comedy movies as it was filled with endless humourous situations.  Priyadarshan after many years has returned to Bollywood with Hungama 2 which also marks the comeback of Shilpa Shetty after a very long time. The movie has a different storyline which is unique as we have seen many sequels which go on a single storyline. However, if we compare it to Hungama the movie lacks comedy in a lot of places. The situations are comic but they do not make you laugh like Hungama did. There are chaos and confusion in the plot but nothing humorous. The cast is great but the faulty writing makes the movie a one time watch and you cannot binge watch the movie like Hungama as there is no major attraction in the movie. The destruction of a cult song Chura Ke Dil Mera also fails to impress and only the sceneries are good.

City of Dreams Season 2 Trailer Review: An unexpected sequel which takes you by surprise

City of Dreams was a great series released on Hotstar with a good star cast. The political drama is set to set your screens on fire again on 30th July 2021. The trailer has been released and it looks spine chilling and the political game is becoming darker than before. The last season was about the conflict between brother and sister to become the CM and now the war ensues between father and daughter where the father tries all the means to remove his daughter from the chair of CM and takes revenge from her as she killed her brother. The trailer shows that the dirt has increased and all types of games are played between the father and daughter so that one of them can sit on the CM chair. There is a lot of drama shown in the trailer and we can expect the same when the series comes out.

Dial 100 Trailer Review: Another promising performance by Manoj Bajpayee

Manoj Bajpayee has always come up with unique web shows and series which have set a different milestone in the web series as well as films. His latest film, Dial 100 trailer has been released. The movie is a Zee5 original film that also features Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar.  The trailer starts with Manoj Bajpayee's character Nikhil Sood who commences his shift in the control room like any other day. He takes up a call which sends a chill down his spine. He tries to make out the sense of strange nature of the call and is stuck in the middle of a situation.  It is pure life and death situation for him as his wife and son are held as hostages by a troubled woman featuring Neena Gupta who is doing everything in utter despair. Seema Palwa, Neena's character has lost her child and holds the call operator responsible for her tragedy. The plot of the movie is similar to Halle Berry's psycho-thriller The Call (2013).

Bamini and Boys Season 2 : A series which tries to bring out a new serving in an old plate

If you have watched Bamini and Boys Season 1 on Hotstar Quix you will very well know what the series is all about. For those who have not watches it yet, let me tell you guys that it is a series where three boys love their landlady and try to find out ways to win her heart.  Ultimately, it so happens that the landlady turns out to be far more intelligent than these boys and escapes their web of lies. In Season 2, we see the wooing continues but here the problems and situations are new and the boys still want Bamini despite having girlfriends.  The series as it started seemed to be interesting and even now it is fine. Only time will tell after the finale episode releases whether the series has really something in its kitty or it is just a repetition of old concepts of wooing and pataoing a girl.

Puncch Beat Season 2 : A series which is monotonous despite a great ending

Whenever we watch a series based on school life it is better not to apply our brains as the series throws the logic out of the window and what we get to see is a version that does not happen in schools at all. Puncch Beat continues with the second season and there is nothing new happening in the series. The series keeps on stretching itself to the point that one starts feeling as to what the hell is happening and when is the torture going to stop. There are random intimate scenes thrown here and there which holds no relevance. The enmity still continues despite Rahat showing affection for Ranbir. There are new villains in the series who bring nothing new and the same old relationship of competition continues to hold between everybody. Although the actors are good and they try to portray their characters but the restrictiveness of writing and everything else brings the series to a big zero.

Hostel Daze Season 2 Trailer Review: A promising trailer with great cast

TVF is known for creating original and great content with great content. However, after allegations framed on its owner Arunabh Singh the channel faced derogation but they have kept on bouncing back through various channels like Amazon Prime, SonyLiv and the last we heard is TVF is collaborating with Zee5 as well.  Hostel Daze was a great series that was released with the collaboration of Amazon Prime. Similarly, Hostel Daze Season 2 will also be released with Prime collaboration. The trailer of the second season has been released online and it looks very promising.  The series revolves around the lives of few hostelers and shows how their lifestyle is during these times. All of them keep on adjusting with each other, taunting each other and ultimately help each other. The trailer makes the series look promising and we hope that we will get to some more masala and thrill this season where some new cast members are joining in.

Hungama 2 Trailer Review: An old serving in a new plate

It so happens that whenever a sequel is made, especially of a hit movie we expect it to be bigger and better than the previous one. However, when the trailer turns out to be a disappointment then you cannot expect anything out of the movie.  Hungama 2 trailer is something like that. It is like an old dish in a new plate. There is nothing unique in this trailer and moreover, they have destroyed a beautiful song by remaking it in the movie. The trailer offers nothing new in terms of content.  The trailer as well as the remake of a song has been criticised greatly by the audiences and fingers can be crossed for hoping that the movie is not as disappointing as the trailer.

Toofan Movie Review: A movie which has a very inspiring story

There are times when you do not know what you want to achieve or become in future. It is when a person enters in our life or an incident occurs which makes us realize what we truly want out of our life. Toofan is one such movie where a gangster becomes a boxer when a girl enters his life and changes him to the core.  The movie shows how a girl influences a gangster to take up a profession rather than going around and killing people for no good. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the movie that to promotes Love Jihad but there is nothing like that as Love Jihad has only been mentioned in the movie but not practised by the lead actor.  The movie has its own moments as it is not only restricted to the boxing sport but extends its wings to different emotions and sentiments which can be seen in the main character. There are many shades in the movie which makes it moving and soothing. According to me, the main theme in the movie is love as it dominates over all the other emotions and

Bhuj: The Pride of India Trailer Review: A patriotic trailer filled with an item song

It is always great to see patriotic movies as it makes us feel proud to be born in a country like India. However, there are patriotic films that have masala rather than patriotism. Those movies make us loathe whatever we see further. The trailer of Bhuj has been released online and the patriotic feeling of the trailer is completely destroyed when we see a glimpse of an item song that feels really out of the place from the film. It completely destroys the mood with which one has started to watch the trailer. The movie which is said to be a tribute to IAF Squadron Vijay Karnik feels completely out of the place and does not do justice to the Squardon's personality. I just hope the movie does not end up becoming as disastrous as the trailer.

14 Phere Trailer Review: A fresh story which brings out loads of humour

The trailer of the film 14 Phere has been released online and it is the story about a couple Sanjay and Aditi. Both of them meet in a college, fall in love and move in together. They want to get married but Aditi's father does not favour love marriage and Sanjay's father do not want an inter-caste marriage.  The couple finds out a non-conservative and unique way to handle the situation. They go for two weddings instead of one and bring in fake parents standing by their side to make it look real. Vikrant is in a very light-hearted avatar in the movie and he is fun to watch after the crime thriller Haseen Dillruba.  Kriti plays the role of Aditi so perfectly that it feels that she is her real self in the movie. The trailer overall looks very promising and we hope that the movie is as entertaining as the trailer.

Mimi Trailer Review: An interesting take on surrogacy

Mimi's trailer has been released online and going by trailer it feels that the film will also be amazing. The trailer shows all the chaos surrounding surrogacy. The girl Mimi is ready to become a surrogate mother when she is offered money and she jumps to the idea of not doing sex and having babies.  She is broken when she gets to know that the couple does to want any baby and she needs to abort the child. However, Mimi decides to keep the baby and ultimately hilarious situations arise as her family asks her about the child's father and when the baby arrives it is very fair unlike her and the man who is said to be her husband. The trailer and story is unusual as nothing like this has ever been witnessed in Indian cinema. The trailer has met with positive reviews from all ends and the hopes are set high as it feels that the movie would be as promising as the trailer. The movie will release online on Netflix and Jio Cinema.

Collar Bomb: A film which makes you realize that one has to repay for their past sins

It has been said and heard that your past always walks with you. One can never escape from their past mistakes and wrongdoings. This is what we get to see in the latest movie released on Hotstar Collar Bomb.  Collar Bomb is the story of a supercop who kills someone by mistake and ultimately shoots him to cover his sins. He knows very well his past will haunt him because of which he wants to send his son to a boarding school. The movie shows how he is forced to kill people because of killing an innocent life. The murders are committed when one person is made to wear a collar bomb which ultimately turns out to be fake as it was a punishment for the supercop.  The film has enough thrills, twists and turns to keep you interested. The actors have done a great job in bringing out the inner emotions of their respective characters. The film can undoubtedly prove to be a binge-watch for everybody during the weekend.

State of Seige: Temple Attack: A series which takes you through Akshardham attack

At times, we witness a masterpiece that can be watched again and again and you will still get the same vibe that you get when you watched it for the first time. State of Seige Temple Attack is a brilliant masterpiece that showcases how the jihadis attacked a temple without even caring about religion. There have been any terrorist attacks in the country time and again but this one was something that shook the country as nobody in their wildest of dreams have ever expected a terrorist to target a peaceful and beautiful temple that was the religious abode for the local people.  After this attack, many things changed and people were shell shocked. The trauma and pain of these incidents fail to go away as you have seen death with your eyes. The previous State of Seige which focused on the Mumbai attacks on 26/11 was also good but this is something else.  The cast and crew of the film are wonderful whether it is Akshaye Khanna, Gautam Rode or Manjari Fadnis, all have done a fabulous job and

Life, Love, Siyaapa: A series which takes us through the modern day relationships

Today, the relationship matrics have become more complicated than ever. This is because the expectations and everything have changed to a great level. There are many expectations of partners which the other person might not fulfill after a level.  Life, Love, Siyaapa is a revamped series on Hotstar Quix which shows the dynamics of a relationship in a student's life. The confusion, chaos, brekaups and patchups can be seen in the series. However, all the fun moments of the series have been snatched to make it short. The series offers nothing new and can be conveniently skipped even if you do not have anything else to watch apart from the series.

Emotional Atyaachar: A series which shows the side effects of a relationship

A relationship can physically, emotionally and financially drain you at times. It can either bring out the best in you or destroy your life completely. Emotional Atyachaar is not a new series but has been represented in a short format on Hotstar Quix.  The series shows how a person's life can be destroyed due to a relationship and sometimes the break off in a relationship is so weird that you do not want to enter in a relationship ever again. There are many reasons due to which break-offs happen but it is not right to break one's heart deliberately.  The cast and crew are perfect in the series and the series can be watched to understand the side effects of love in detail and to get out of all this mess.

Kota Toppers: A revamped series which brings out the humour in the student's life

Students have a happening and fun life as compared to adults. This is because they have all the time in the world where they can be themselves without any kind of restrictions. Kota Toppers is not at all about toppers.  The series is all about what goes on in the life of Kota students and their fun and frolics. There are various incidents and situations that make you laugh and enjoy with the cast.  The series is quite watchable as there are a lot of interesting incidents happening in the story and it is quite different from all the other series made on this subject.

Shit, Yaar! - A series which shows the chaotic life of two boys

At times, people are caught in a situation where they do not find a way out despite trying everything. The situation can either occur knowingly or unknowingly. Shit, Yaar! streaming on Hotstar Quix runs on a similar theme. Here two boys who come to Goa for business are caught by dreaded gangsters and police is also after them. They try to escape the situation but keep on getting entrapped in it time and again. What happens is a hilarious cat and mouse race between all the three parties. The series cannot be said to be a really good one as it becomes monotonous at times but yeah it can be watched for passing your time. There is nothing new the series has to offer and the casting has also not been done according to the characters so it feels a bit out of place.

Daav: A series which is full of revenge and hatred

What happens when you are full of hatred and revenge? A game of cat and mouse ensues where both the parties try to defeat and move forward. Something similar is the latest Hotstar Quix series Daav. Daav is an adaptation of a TV serial that shows the story of revenge and hatred.  The concept of the story is nothing new as it shows a rich spoilt brat who thinks he can do anything in this world he wants to and escape from everything and everyone. But what he does not know is the fact that you always shave to pay back for your sins in one form or another.  The hatred and this cat and mouse game continue till the end and it is in the end that we come to know the exact events and why the girl is after the family. The cast and crew have done a great job but there is nothing new the series can offer so it can be conveniently skipped.

Haseen Dillruba: A film which is good but montonous

Most of us love watching and reading olden times crime stories as they interest us greatly and to another level. Haseen Dillruba is also something like that. It takes us to the world of old crime mystery where everything seems normal and the abnormality is opened up in the end.  The movie starts with a mystery where the wife is said to be accused of murdering the husband and the story gradually opens up where we see the madness of all the lead characters. The movie has both white and grey shades and every character seems to be shady.  The movie is good and all the characters have done a great job but at times the story feels a bit monotonous than expected. The duration of the film seems to be never-ending and although the movie has received negative reviews all over I feel the movie is a decent watch if you are someone who loves mystery thrillers by heart.

Samantar 2 : A well deserved sequel to the first season

Samantar was a hit series translated from a Marathi series with the same name and cast. The series was a hit as the storyline was very unique and it always kept the audiences on the edge. The second season of the series was recently released on MX Player and the storyline was different from the first season.  Samantar means parallel and the main character Kumar Mahajan's life is very much similar to the already deceased Sudarshan Chakrapani. All the incidents of their lives are similar irrespective of their reactions to them.  Kumar at first does not believe when he hears this from a Guruji but ultimately starts believing the same. The second season is totally different from the first season as it is the continuation of the first season's story.  The cast, crew and everybody have done a wonderful job and I really want the third season of the series. This series can make it to your binge-watch list of the weekend.

Risky Ishq: An anthology which shows the side effects of love

Love has many forms and shapes. At times, it can show you heaven and there are times when love feels like hell. Risky Ishq is an anthology by Hotstar where we see the harmful effects of love when things get out of hand. The stories focus on different stories and you get to see different episodes. The series is made well but at times it starts feeling monotonous and boring because we have already seen such type of content on our TV screens.  The series can be watched depending on your mood and time as it is not that interesting and worth watching when compared to a few other contents on the channel.

Target: A series where everybody has their selfish motives

What happens when you go on a mission with a selfish motive and your motive is in conflict with other people's motives? There will be definitely chaos and confusion all around. Something like this is visible in the Hotstar Quix series Target.  Target is a series where you find everybody has a specific motive for climbing Everest. Some want to do it for their love of mountains while others want to make a profit out of it. The series seems to be an adaptation of a movie or TV serial. The series is a good watch as it keeps you on your toes as to what is going to happen in the next episode. The series has a wonderful cast who are excellent in their roles and it gives you thrill and excitement after every episode.

The Return: A series which has many twists and turns to keep you interested

At times, we observe that many secrets are safeguarded in a house and slowly everything comes to light. The Return is a Hotstar Quix series where we find mystery, thriller, action, crime and various other genres adequately.  The series looks like an adaptation of some TV serial and the story is always thrilling. There are many twists and turns which keep you glued till the end. The effects and everything makes the series all the more interesting.  The cast and crew have done a wonderful job in bringing out the series to us and it can prove to be your binge-watch with popcorn as it has a really interesting story and concept.
