World Theatre Day is celebrated across all ITI Cooperating members, ITI centres, theatre organizations, theatre universities, theatre professionals and theatre lovers. It is a reminder for all regarding the importance of theatre and a wake-up call to government, politicians and individuals who have not yet recognized the value of the art form.
On this day, a person from the theatre who practices the art from mind and heart is called upon to put forward his/her views. The message is translated into more than 50 languages and it is read before all the spectators before a performance and is also published in newspapers.
The people in the audio-visual field also contribute greatly in making this message reach across all the continents. On this day, we can learn more about theatres and various famous personalities who gained popularity through the theatrical art form.
