Bellbottom Trailer Review: Despite lot of females it remains Akshay Kumar film

Bellbottom has been the first film which has been shot in a foreign location after the pandemic. The film will be releasing in theatres instead of an OTT release on August 19 and the trailer of the film has been released online.

The trailer starts with a plane being hijacked and soon after we see Lara Dutta in the role of then Prime Minister of India. Her transformation to Indira Gandhi has been done so neatly that people forget that it is actually Lara Dutta playing the role.

Akshay Kumar enters the scene and is seen hitting punches and guns and it feels as if nobody else can become the saviour of the country and he is one of the most searched men even by the Prime Minister. There are some scenes to show Pakistan as the toxic enemy of India.

Then we see that Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi make appearances on the screen. Vaani Kapoor plays the role of Akshay Kumar's love interest and has a very small role to play in the trailer. Similarly, Huma Qureshi is dressed in a burqa and warns the male actor.

The unusual title of the movie is because Akshay Kumar's code name in the film is Bellbottom. The trailer's main focus is on how a man who is Akshay Kumar saves the day because of his tactics and skills from the terrorists. The plot of the movie is similar to Baby and other action-filled patriotic films.

IC 814 Kandahar Hijacking has been released on Netflix recently and has already started creating controversy. There was a meeting of Netflix with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday and the OTT giant has committed that they will review their content so that they do not hurt the national sentiments of the country.  The series has created controversy because of the hijackers who were involved in the 1999 Indian Airlines hijacking. They have been given nicknames like Burger, Bhola, Shankar, Cheif and Doctor. Some people think this type of characterization shows the hijackers in a human light, leading to public outbursts.  The ministry demanded an explanation from Netflix India about such kind of insensitive and harmful elements in the series as there are real-life elements depicted in the series. However, Netflix has claimed that the series is made with all the public resources which includes government statements and books.  The hijacking was done by the...
