The day was established by Food and Agricultural Organization a UN organization in 2001 so that people recognize the importance of milk as a global food. It also celebrates the dairy sector.
The benefits of dairy products and milk have been actively campaigned all across the world and the dairy sector supports the livelihood of around one billion people worldwide.
This year the theme of World Milk Day will be focusing on Sustainability in the dairy sector with messages across the environment, socio-economics and environment. This will help to re-introduce dairy farming to the world.
There are videos of farmers and other people across the world who have embraced technology so that fewer carbon emissions occur across the dairy sector.
Thanks
