International Development Week or IDW is an initiative established annually in 1991. It is held in the first full week of February from 7th to 13th of the month. It engages Canadians on global issues. It is a unique Canadian tradition which will be celebrated online this year due to COVID 19.
It allows people to take a break and acknowledge Canadian contributions in reducing poverty and international humanitarian assistance in the developing world. Candian government, individuals and civil society organizations mark this week.
There are millions of activities organized in the country and abroad. Ther are many organizations and institutions which organize different activities and one can take part in them to understand more about this day.
