National Pepper Pot Day: A dish that won the war


National Pepper Pot Day is celebrated to remember the dish that was nicknamed as the soup which won the war. The day is marked annually on December 29. There was a very terrible and ruthless cold in 1777-1778. 

The Continental Army was fighting for the newly formed United States of America during the Revolutionary War. As the soldiers camped at Valley Forge in 1997 on December 29, George Washington asked the chef of the army to make a meal which would warm them and boost their spirits. 

The chef took some tripe, pieces of meat, pepper and other ingredients and made Pepper Pot Soup, which was also known as Philadelphia Pepper Pot Soup. The soup was enjoyed by the troops and nicknamed as the soup which won the war. The day can be enjoyed by making Pepper Pot Soup and the recipe of the same is available online.

Maharani: A web series which has shown Rabri Devi to be a pseudo intellectual

Sony Liv has released a new web series called Maharani which is said to be based on the lives of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Ravi Teja starrer Mr Bachchan releases on OTT

Ravi Teja's action drama movie titled Mr Bachchan which created a lot of hype before its release failed to create magic at the box office. The movie is directed by Harish Shankar and was released in theatres on 15th August this year. The movie is now available on Netflix.  The movie is adapted from Raid where Ajay Devgn played the lead. However, the Telugu version has its own way of showing the film. The movie is about an Income Tax officer played by Ravi Teja who raids the house of a corrupt MP played by Jagapathi Babu.  The film marks the debut of Bhagyashri Borse who plays Teja's love interest, Jikki. Despite the wonderful plot and Ravi Teja's fan following the film could not bring audiences to the theatres.
