Legal Services Day is celebrated by all State Authorities. There are different legal literacy camps and functions organized at various places in Delhi. People from the government as well as private sectors take part in the functions related to the day.
The day was selected as Legal Services Day by Supreme Court of India in 1995 across India to help and support weaker and poor sections of people and society which can be disabled, SC, ST, children, women, human trafficking victims and natural calamity victims.
The reason behind celebrating this day is to provide free of cost, efficient legal service to people who are placed in the lower strata of the society. There are Lok Adalats organized by the various courts across the state to help the people.
Everyone across the country must participate in the events held on World Legal Services Day to gain knowledge about constitutional law and rights which can be exercised as and when the need arises.
