International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is organized by the United Nations. There are many events held in this regard in New York, Vienna, Nairobi and Geneva where the UN offices are located.
It marks the anniversary of 181 resolution which divided Palestine into two states among which one was Arab and the other Jewish. It was observed on December 1 in 2003.
To celebrate this day better, one can understand the history of Palestine and the struggle of people to fight for their independence and freedom which ultimately led to the division of the states for peace and prosperity.
