It was on October 24, 1945, that the United Nations Organization came into existence and since then it has worked on a global level to ensure that the world is a peaceful place to reside in with its various plans and policies.
Most of the developed and developing countries are a part of the United Nations Organization and attend seminars, discussions and debates organized by the agency. It is an international official holiday for all nations across the world.
The day is celebrated through discussions, meetings and exhibitions across various countries and there are celebrations held in India as well. Each and every country celebrates the day in a different manner and style. In some countries, it is an official holiday while in another country it is a semester break for students.
Along with United Nations Day, the day is also celebrated as World Development Information Day which is celebrated by conducting quizzes, elocutions and discussions across the world.
