Comedy is an art that can be learned by many but mastered by few. There have been many Indian comedians who have starred in different movies and entertained us with their splendid performances. Some of the comedians who entertained us in movies are being elaborated below.
1. Johnny Walker
Badruddin Kazi popularly known as Johnny Walker has been one of the prominent and acclaimed comedians in Bollywood. He was a bus conductor at BEST before joining the industry and entertained the passengers with his comedy. He was noticed by Balraj Sahni who helped him entering the entertainment industry. He had done many noteworthy films like CID, Madhumati, Baazi and Mr and Mrs. 55.
2. Mehmood
Mehmood has been one of the remarkable comedians of the industry. he started his career with Kimat and rose to prominence. He has received 2 Filmfare awards and 25 Filmfare nominations. He has done movies like Padosan, Bombay to Goa and Gumnaam.
3. Asrani
Asrani is a senior actor in Bollywood and is a favorite comedian of the Bollywood industry. He started his career with Hare Kanch ki Chudiyan and has won two Filmfare awards in his entire career. He has done movies like Sholay, Chupke Chupke and Choti Si Baat. He has also dubbed Zazu's version in Disney's Lion King in Hindi.
4. Kader Khan
Kader Khan is a versatile actor of Indian cinema who has won three Filmfare awards. Though he has played many roles on-screen including negative ones he was famous for his comedy roles in Anari No 1 and Dulhe Raja among others. He was a professor in Civil Engineering before entering the cinema. He has written dialogues for many films besides acting.
5. Johnny Lever
He started his career with Love 86 but the role of Babulal in Baazigar rose him to fame. He has 2 Filmfare awards in his credit and acted in movies like Dulhe Raja, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai and Koi Mil Gaya among others.
6. Paresh Rawal
Paresh Rawal started his career as a supporting actor and villain. He later on became a popular comedy actor with Andaz Apna Apna, Garam Masala, Hungama, Awara Pagal Deewana, and Phir Hera Pheri among others. He won Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Hera Pheri.
7. Rajpal Yadav
Rajpal Yadav has starred in many movies as a comedian. Some of his rib-tickling performances are Malaamal Weekly, Chup Chup Ke, Garam Masala, Dhol, Bhool Bhulaiya and Hungama among others.
Many other comedians are missing from the list and have given some amazing performances like Govinda, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor and Archana Puran Singh among others.
