International Mother Language Day recognizes the fact that multilingualism and languages can help in the advancement of inclusion and Sustainable Development Goals focus on leaving no one behind.
UNESCO believes that education based on a mother tongue or first language must start from early years as early education and childhood care is the core of learning. This year, the day will call upon educators, teachers, families, policymakers and parents to raise their commitment towards multilingual education.
The discussion will also focus upon including education to advance education recovery keeping in mind COVID 19. It is very important to safeguard linguistic diversity across the world as it is one of the factors which separates us and gives us a different identity.
To celebrate this day in a better way, one can learn more about different languages across the world and make their future generation understand its importance and significance.
