Siddhartha was an Indian prince who left his luxurious life to opt for a simple and sober life. He sat under a Bodhi tree to meditate till he found the root of suffering and the ways to free himself from the same.
After 49 days of unbroken meditation, Siddhartha attained enlightenment and experienced Moksha and became Buddha or Awakened One. The enlightenment of Lord Buddha is the centre of Buddhist faith from the last 2,500 years.
