As the world celebrates International Yoga Day on June 21 in the hope of staying fit and healthy we hope that corona leaves the world as soon as possible. India has been the pioneer of yoga and the rishis and yogis have been practicing the form of exercise since olden times. The form of exercise has brought us closer to the world as people from international countries also take an interest in this form and come to India for learning more about yoga and attain peace and happiness.
There are many places in the country where yoga schools are opened and they offer yoga classes along with food and accommodation. Yoga is a form of exercise which is completely different from going to gym or performing a tough exercise regime. Yoga, unlike other exercises, lets you analyze and realize your existence in the world.
Yoga connects you with your soul and brings out the best in you which you might have not known for long. Yoga is not an exercise but a form of living. Yoga helps in making your body flexible. A 98-year-old yoga guru Nanammal Amma has been practicing yoga for a long period and even today she can land youngsters in complex while performing yoga.
Yoga is good for both physical and mental health unlike other exercise forms which only focus on physical health. Yoga is a gift given to us by our ancestors for attaining moksha and we should try to preserve it and pass it on to our future generations so that people know that India is not a land of garbage but a country which has taught many things to the world.
