Aranyak Web Series Review: A bland series which is saved by the lead actors

Aranyak marks the debut of Raveena Tandon in digital space and alongside her, we get to see Parambrata Chatterjee as the protagonist. The story of the series is set in a beautiful and cold hill station called Sironah. It shows the life of two completely different police officers. Angad is a police officer who comes from the city and has very different problem-solving skills while Kasturi is a local police officer who is very friendly and is aware of everything going on in the town. The rest of the story is about how these two contrast natured police officers will work together in solving a crime.  Sironah is a town where everybody keeps on hiding something or the other. Everybody goes into tension when a crime occurs after 19 years The series is inspired by Asur but is not based on it. The series can be watched only because of the wonderful performances by the lead actors and the wonderful location.

Whistleblower Web Series Review: Good series with bad writing

Ritwik Bhowmik after entertaining people as Radhe in Bandish Bandits is back in action with Whistleblower. The series is based on Vyapam scam which occurred in Madhya Pradesh and was exposed in 2013. The show is told from the point of view of the whistleblower who is on a mission to expose the racket.  The students who sit in Pre Medical Tests and other such entrance exams where a student's future is determined by powerful state politicians and public servants who give seats to the undeserving candidates in exchange for large amounts of money.  Although the series is based on the scam the writing of the series puts it down. When Scam 1992 was released on SonyLiv it created a sensation but the series despite having a great star cast failed to create such kind of sensation.  The star cast of the series cannot save the series as well. Ritwik's performance is praiseworthy which moves us otherwise the series is not an outstanding one. It can be watched by those who wish to und...

Decoupled Web Series Review: A series which is both interesting and boring simultaneously

India's favourite chocolate boy Madhavan or as we know him Maddy is back with Punjabi cinema's famous heroine Surveen Chawla for a web series called Decoupled. The series is already streaming on Netflix and offers an interesting insight into the lives of modern couples. The story does not show how celebrity author Arya Iyer and finance manager Shruti Sharma Iyer meet and fall in love. The narrative starts with the couple fighting in the car when the husband is going to the airport which sets the tone for all the other episodes. The series has both the elements of marriage politics as well as humour. The show is quite relatable with the common audiences as it shows how couples behave after marriage and the silly reasons at times that leads to their separation.  The web series also shows how social media can negatively influence people's lives. It also shows differences between well-developed flats of Delhi, Noida and Gurugram and smaller houses of Mumbai.  Madhavan and Surve...

Bunty aur Babli 2 Trailer Review: The con couples are back with twice the fun

Bunty aur Babli has entertained the audiences when it was released. The concept was quite new of a con couple duping people and it clicked with people instantly. The movie is back with its sequel with the new cast and a few old faces.  As we have seen in the previous Bunty aur Babli the story is about a boy and girl from a small town who want to make it big through anyways and they choose an easy way of conning people to earn money.  Bunty aur Babli 2 is about a couple who con people with the names of famous Bunty aur Babli but are not actual Bunty and Babli. This is when the old Bunty and Babli come forward to save their names and confront these new Bunty and Babli which leads to different situations.  If we go by trailer, the movie sure looks interesting with all kinds of twists and turns and will surely entertain the audiences although the pairing of Saif and Rani does not look compatible at all. Let us what magic happens when the film is released in the theatres....

Satyameva Jayate 2 Trailer Review: Three John Abrahams star in this heavy duty drama film

John Abraham has taken everything a step higher with Satyameva Jayate 2. The movie has more than action, corruption, politics and muscle-flexing. There are four characters namely a politician, farmer leader, cop and a free killer which are played by John.  One is a father and the other two are sons which have different ideologies. It is an action film that runs along the lines of the prequel. The film features Anup Soni, Gautami Kapoor and Harsh Chhaya and is an acting comeback for Divya Khosla Kumar.  Nora Fatehi also makes an appearance in a dance number. The trailer has some strong dialogues regarding duty towards the nation and patriotism. It also loosely depicts the farmer's protest which took place recently.  Milap Zaveri has directed the film and the co-producers are Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T-Series and Madhu Bhojwani, Nikkhil Advani and Monisha Advani's Emmay Entertainment. The movie will be released on November 25.

Aafat-e-Ishq Trailer Review: A dark comedy where Neha Sharma outshines herself

Aafat-e-Ishq's trailer has been released online and Neha Sharma is the main protagonist of the story. When the trailer begins, it looks like a small town rom-com story. However, that is not the case. There are many twists and turns in the story that will leave the audience excited and thrilled.  The movie is a remake of a Hungarian film Liza, The Fox-Fairy and features Deepak Dobriyal, Amit Sial, Illa Arun and Namit Das among others. The story is about Lallo played by Neha Sharma who is an innocent and sweet girl who is on a ride to find true love.  One of her friends suggests her to use a dating app to fulfil her quest. However, all the men she dates die in accidents. Lallo is the major suspect behind their deaths and Illa Arun who is possibly her grandmother in the film tells her that Laal Pari was a cursed woman in a fable whose suitors died when they fell for her.  The trailer looks very exciting and different and we hope that the movie turns out to be as good as the ...
