Gangubai Kathiawadi Movie Review: Alia Bhatt outshines as Gangubai

Gangubai Kathiawadi is in theatres and is already breaking box office records with its earnings. Although initially the casting of the movie has been criticised by the film fraternity and the critics but it turns out that Alia Bhatt has proved everybody wrong with her acting.  Alia outshines as Gangubai and her face speaks more than the dialogues. Shantanu Maheshwari as a shy young lover is fabulous. Seema Pahwa as Sheela Mausi, the owner of Kamathipura is great. Vijay Raaz who was criticized for playing a transgender is wonderful. Undoubtedly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made a canvas and painted the movie so well that you can connect with each and every character of the film. The casting is great, the story is great and overall the movie is a must-watch for everyone.

Jhund Trailer Review: Amitabh Bachchan shines in the trailer of the film

The trailer of Jhund has been released online where we see Amitabh Bachchan with the chillar party of Jhund. The film is inspired by the real-life story of the Slum Soccer Foundation coach and founder Vijay Barse. Barse is the man who gave football in the hands of slum children and made their careers. The trailer of the movie starts with molestation, robbery, poor living in slums and drugged youth. The scenes are shocking, disturbing and emotional which connects them with the audiences. Vijay played by Amitabh Bachchan hands football to slum-dwellers and helps them in choosing the right path.  Vijay is called a mad man by everyone as he makes the whole college a slum by bringing these children to the ground. Vijay sets aside everything and with his passion, he changes the life of these children. He once fails to save the lives of the children but ultimately succeeds due to his noble intentions.  The dialogues of the film are excellent. The voice of Big B gives the dialogues mo...

Bachchan Pandey Trailer Review: A trailer which will leave you waiting for more

Bachchan Pandey featuring Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon has been one of the most awaited films of 2022. After a series of posters, the trailer of the film has been released.  If we go by trailer, we see that Kriti plays the role of an upcoming director who wants to make a film on gangsters by casting a real-life gangster Bachchan Pandey. Arshad Warsi accompanies her when she visits the gangster.  Kriti's character tries her best to find more about Bachchan Pandey to write out a film script but fails in all her attempts. Love Hostel Trailer Review: A trailer which explores the evil practice of honor killing

Honor killing is an evil practice that is prevalent mostly in Haryana and Punjab and we also get to hear such cases from Rajasthan as well. The killing is done only to protect one's caste and the elderly people of the village cannot accept that people of different caste can love and get married.  If we go by the trailer of Love Hostel, it is based on the concept of honor killing where a young and newly married couple played by Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey love each other and they run from their murderous family who does not want them to be together.  The couple goes to the police for protection and the police give them a dirty hostel to stay in so that they are safe from their families. Bobby Deol is brought in as an assassin who should bring the girl back home so that her family could kill her and protect their so-called honor.  The movie is directed by Shankar Raman and produced by Gauri Khan, Drishyam Films, Manish Mundra and Gaurav Verma. It is presented by Red C...

Gehraiyaan Movie Review: A movie which lacks gehraiyaan and has no storyline

Whenever you watch a movie you expect that it will give you something to think upon. But after watching Gehraiyaan I feel that this movie is nothing but crap. The actors did not have anything to do so they signed the movie came in front of the camera did not know what they are doing and went back to their homes.  The story of the film is far from being logical as it is hard to understand where the story and the characters are heading to. Everything is so hazy that one gets confused that what exactly the movie is trying to convey. A girl is dating her cousin's fiancee and cannot leave him even after knowing that he still has feelings for the cousin.  Alisha, the character played by Deepika dumps her boyfriend when she develops feelings for another guy and despite the boyfriend's efforts to get back to her, she moves on. However, she does not have the balls to move on from the guy who is two-timing her and her distant cousin.  Despite being independent, intelligent and ever...

Gangubai Kathiawadi Trailer Review: A movie which is obstructed by wrong casting

The movie Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on real-life social worker Gangubai Kathiawadi who was a prostitute as well. The movie is first marred by wrong casting as many people have found Alia Bhatt unsuitable for the role of Gangubai and Vijay Raaz misfit for the role of a transgender. According to the audience, a mature actress should have been Gangubai and a transgender should have played the role of a transgender. Secondly, Alia Bhatt is very uncomfortable in the trailer as she is playing a role that is more mature than her personality. The trailer of the film is not at all promising as there is nothing that can bind you to the character of any actor. The trailer is good in parts but you cannot call it a thrilling or a good one.

A Thursday Movie Review: A film which will keep you glued to your screens till the end

Some Bollywood films are entirely forgettable while some of them remain with us after we watch them. A Thursday is one such movie where the character played by Yami Gautam kidnaps 16 kids and puts forward her demands to the Prime Minister of the country.  The film shows a woman taking charge and this is perhaps Yami's first role as a strong female lead where she is not shown as a damsel in distress but a lady who can change the world. The movie is said to be a sequel to A Wednesday.  Although it lacks the powerful storytelling by Neeraj Pandey but Behzad Khambata pulls the movie very well. The performances by the lead actors are excellent and this is perhaps way better than the masala movies we get to see in Bollywood these days. Overall, the movie is a great one-time watch.
